Today me and nige: Fitted the new oil pump and replaced the sump, Gave the inlet manifold a dam good clean with cellulose thinners, Put the injectors back in the fuel distributor rail the right way round, after some donut put them in upside down (it was me). And then spent a good hour or so searching for one of the injector retaining clips which mysteriously went missing.

Plus worked out where the missing vacuum lines go (please note this is not due to our poor memories, they where missing anyway) filled the gearbox with fresh oil, as this is easier to do then when the engine is back in. Set the position of the distributor so its ready for John to double check the timing, plus found the distributor cap was shagged (a mechanical term) as the carbon brush for the center of the cap had broken off. plus torqued up all the remaining bolts for other items which had already been fitted but required alignment etc. Stripped and cleaned the throttle body of vac lines and idle screw, then flushed through with thinners and blown out with my little compressor. Plus a hour to find a missing retaining clip for one of the fuel injectors, which appeared on the floor in the centre of the garage after a good hours looking for it so I think Andy and Lucy's garage must have a poltergeist as we both know that it was not there before. There we go M8, now if Lucy reads this lot she'll think that we have really been working hard today ;D

thats the problem when your on your own you end up spending far too much time polishing your flange so you end up getting a high gloss finish on it
