Today I cleaned both the Golf and the bus, seeing as they were caked in Santa Pod mud from the weekend. I also decided it was time to give the bus an oil change, and new oil filter, and removed the oil strainer and gave that a damn good clean! After that, spent about an hour trying to clean all the oil from the engine bay that's been spraying from somewhere!

hub leak is finally fixed, topped up my trans oil too, and while i was under there i took out all the leaves, twigs and a couple of feathers??! ooops out of my oil cooler, so i decided to make a mesh gaurd for the scoop in true diy style,20 quid for a roll of mesh i think not!! £1.99 for a throw away bbq, and the mesh was just the right size! hopefully i dont find any burgers, weaners, or prawns in it next time though. and this i took as i was lying on my back thinking my necks aching and my eyes are full $hite, poxy volkswagens, and then i looked up and though ahhhh summers coming!

Sorry! yeah well, after narrowing the beam myself i was please to report that running on the lowest setting was wicked, it looked spot on and rode quite well, so, it even gave me enough confidence to drive fast trouble is, the bottom of the shock towers was barely 2 inches above the ground and i was driving fast along a country road and crested one of those pesky little "JumpS" and then a little "DITCH" shaped issue in the road and i heard a load bang and felt pieces of road shower the underside of my car, when i braked it pulled hard to the left and when i looked i noticed nothing, except for a large scrapey road coloured mark on the botton of the lefthand shock tower. later i looked agasin and realised that the knock must have busted both welds on the beam as the whole left side was hanging on by the torsion leaves inside! trouble was, i'd already driven to coventry and half way back like it! ARGHHHH and i had passengers in the car, i didn't quite tell them the full extent of the trouble! its fixed now, like i should have done it "funkenblitz" style with inner sleeves and i've even added extra outer sleeves on the bottow for extra strength! However on friday my paretns were kind enough to take me to wiltshire 100 miles away to collect my new 1995 SKoda favorit! its great! just needs a name...... s
