Got my MOT on Monday but my mate pointed out yesterday that the damage sustained last week to the N/S rear corner from the lady trying to drive through me would be a failure due to the sharp bits sticking out around the arch and broken bumper. As her Hubby decided to settle up in cash i decided to crack on today, so have repaired and replaced bumper parts and have some primer on damaged area for now just to tidy it up. Now i'm on a roll i might just have to carry on as long as the rain stays off.

I've been buying new tools! I have aquired a beautiful Mac Tools socket set, a few Snap On spanners a Teng tools spanner and a couple of sockets... EBAY i tell thee, its the way !!!!! Also, over last weekend, i cut all the floorpans away from the cab's chassis and airchiseled off the last bits of metal, just needs shot blasting, the front cross member repaired and new floor pans put in, then i think POR15 will sort me, Nige you got any? Oh, I'll also pop on adjustable springplates and upgraded torsion bars at the back of the cab. All in a days work, I have 75 days left on sunday! HEHE

I went too pick up my parts from Auto Haus today, to replace the ones which came from GSF which were incorrect ;D The only problem is the main thing that I wanted to carry on with car is wrong , I specifically told the guy in the parts department which Gasket I wanted I even gave him the correct VW Part # 027 129 717 F so order VW part # 027 129 717D which is the same size gasket as supplied by GSF So I've had to reorder this item plus pay another three quid extra, plus the system is down so, even through I've ordered the part it maybe Tuesday or Wednesday before I get How typical So who nows regarding me and the Golf being at the meet bet you did'nt see that coming

You,ll get there Nige eventually, I,ve pulled the motor out of the bus today and stripped it down to find what was my first thoughts the oil cooler seals are leaking like a sieve, i think partly because the securing nuts that hold the cooler mount to the engine were not that tight. Apart from that when i received the engine the fan housing was damaged in transit and the supplier supplied a new one, i think where the damaged was on the housing was on the top where the cooler is and i have now found that the cooler was damaged at the same time, so i have ordered all the parts from the supplier F.O.C of course and then i will rebuild again and hopefully that will be it.

Sorry Nige i will do it as soon as i have sorted my headache engine. I stripped the 0ld engine today and now i have a new one to fit i noticed a big difference in the engine cases, the one with the oil leak has reconditioned cases , not what i ordered and found the left hand case has been welded both sides of where the cooler mounts and the back side i have found a crack which is leaking oil, The replacement is now built up ready to fit tomorrow along with a new serpentine belt kit with nice blue anodised pullys and this engine has new cases so should be ok (fingers crossed). let you know tomorrow how i got on.
