You don't change from single circuit (sc) to a dual circuit (dc)master cylinder. What happens? ?? Going to run discs on the front as thats what i have asked Santa to bring and drums on the back as need a PCD change. Been offered a rear disc conversion in the pcd I'm after will have to haggle on price but could be an option if i go down this line what will happen with a sc what effects will discs front and rear have if any So whats involved in changing to a dc master cylinder does it need to be lh ? or rh? whats the difference? ? will a dc mc fit in the hole left by the sc mc and what about the push rod? ?? confused iam !?!?!? any help please post thanks trickyt

the sc will NOT work, it doesn't flow enough fluid to hold any pressure at all on the calipers so you just get no brakes. the DC will maintain the pressure and will flow more fluid so the brakes will work, i went down the porsche route (944MC) it bolted on with a little work and was perfect! i now have the original porka reservoir and the vw one just looks pretty! I'll talk you through if you like, or if you get hold of a porsche 944 MC i'll pop over and help you sort it! hope thats of use chap. one thing i know is that the stock s/c MC will defo NOT work even a little bit, you'll have NO brakes at all! s

um mine was an alloy 944 the front part has a larger cylinder i'll try to remember the sizes, what calipers are you putting on, if they're sort of normal replacement ones like CSP or CB or even EMPI you'll be fine with any. mostly it'll be to do with condition, so obviously the beter the better! the turbo ones will be best but you dont realy need the extra stopping power it provides, i mean stock SC on well adjusted drums will lock you up! so no worries! s
