I'm new to this but Ive golf a 84 golf 1.6 auto and i need a new accelerator cable its not a normal one as Ive been told by vw as it goes from the pedal to the auto gear box can anybody help me to find one please

Hi there...can't give you an exact answer, I'm afraid...but you could try looking on the website of, or ringing GSF , VW Heritage, euro car parts uk...or just try your local car parts shop (we have CT autoparts near us in Rushden who are good generally).
I have googled and found that the original part number for an auto accelerator cable for a golf 1.6 up to 1984 is OEM Ref 172 723 555B.
