Hi Nopies, I'm not sure on the stinger, but I will say there are legal guidelines regarding noise output, it you check on the VOSA website it does give some information about this, however I wouldn't worry to much though, half the lads in Kettering that come down St Johns road doing nearly a ton have an exhaust note above 100 DB. And although I own the type of Dub which normally ends up with one of these on it, I don't care for them myself, its a little sad and chavy in my opinion, plus more importantly it ups the fuel consumption and can damage your engine long term .

Dont get me wrong, I don't wanna chav him up or anything (he'd never forgive me) but I love the bug noise so I just want to make him a bit louder than stock

I had a chat with dodgy (Nigel) from the Northampton group the other night, and he was telling me you can make the standard tail pipe more Throaty by knocking out the baffles, without making the Exhaust sound over the top. But as a non Bug owning Dub nutter , I would ask the advice of some of the others to see what involved. Or I could quiz Dodgy at the next meet and find out a bit more for you ;D

i fink ive see in one of the dub catalogz, either ssp, coolair or big boys toys a decent exhaust for a 1200. how about jus changin the tail pipes to a bigger bore pair or how about a zoom tube ? zoom tubes are only about 20 squidz n bolt straight on to any regular bug exhaust instead of the tail pipes, they sound louder n deeper n make a neat cromed accessory to the rear end of ya dub

If you just want to make it loader, try to find a replacement thats about the same size (pipe diameter) as if you go "super sized" ;D. It will upset the back pressure (volumetric, and flow rate of exhaust gases through the exhaust system), which in a smaller C.C. engine could make things worse, and also you probably find you burn more fuel.

thereza box and header, in the big boys toys cataloge, that fits a 1200, it would give ya ride a more sporty look, itz priced at £60 odd.
or az i said b 4, a zoom tube priced at around £25 odd, it would make fings sound loader n also will fit straight on to your exsiting exhaust. all ya gotta do iz take orf ya 2 tail pipez n then bolt the zoom tube on instead.
