The golf doctor lol, axenige how do you know so bloody much! ;D what do you do work wise? years of wasting my life ;D work these days is military stuff for many different areas, from film and re-enactment work, too special pouches for British forces operating in Afghanistan. My real trade is that of Upholstery and car trimming, although I did many years ago do all my City and Guilds in Industrial and auto motive engineering, plus a B-Tec national at the now defunked Wellingborough collage site. So WW2 interests and engineering skills equals MK1* Sten Gun which was Scratch built by me ;D, that includes the Khaki yellow rifle sling yes I made that as well

I don't make replicas as a hobby, this was more of a one off project. It all started many years back, when I was a professional model maker ;D, oh forgot to mention that I'd done that as well . The problem was that in the being I decided to make a very rare model (total production under a 100,000) made by Singer Manufacturing (the sewing machine people) and as a result I had big problems getting the correct reference information as the Mk1* sten is different in many ways too all the other models that were made during WW2 and there are only about 3 real ones left in the world, as the majority of them where melted down sometime in the mid to late 1970's as scrap metal, so there is now only, one at the R.E.M.E. museum (MK1*), one at The Imperial War Museum (Mk1), and finally one in the Royal Armories collection (MK1 ands Mk1*), these all require written permission to view and handle. So all in about ten years work, the main problem was the front barrel bushing, as there was not any information or good reference pictures of sizes and what it looked like, but anyway I got there eventually. The Sten is now on loan to a local museum as part of a display showing the generic development of the sten gun series, and is the only Mk1* replica in the world ;D And heres me in "For King and Country" a few years back with My real Sten MK5 (S) Silenced Model, rate of fire 625 rounds per minute (emergency only) due to special lightened Phosphor bronze bolt, but was designed too use single shot. Again the only one in private hands at the time. These where used by Paratroopers and Army commandos and the silencer had a life span of only15 rounds. and heres an original wartime picture showing most of the different models. Well I'll not boar you all any further with my strange hobbies and interests ;D

Nath, better known as Gob$hite from SCD is your man, Nath got more Mk2's than just about anyone else I know. So give him a try, the only problem is he has been scrapping quite a few lately due to space issues.
