Took crank for regrind today, they had a look and said they would try just to repolish the mains and see how they look,so fingers crossed, the only parts i shall need are some gaskets, both crank oil seals, timing belt and i recommend a new clutch as the old one is about knackered apart from that the engines in pretty good order, see ya. Get whatever's needed! Put me down for a cup of coffee or three and some of your Chocolate Brownies for when we put the engine back in the car A new jar of coffee is available from the shop and hot water can be found in most kettles if you need a Tea break parts list doing just let me know Karl has already said that he can get a good trade discount on Tunnocks bars (which your going to need to replace as part of your rebuild) from Central Chocolate supplies. well you've got to get your priorities right ;D

Hi all, just an update on engine problem. been over to titchmarsh this morning and picked up the donor engine to rob a con rod from to replace the damaged one. Hopefully i will get the rebuilt engine back to you for the weekend. The donor engine was £50 better than £374 + vat for a set of rods from VW, be in touch soon. Just as a matter of interest the guy i got the engine from has about ten beetles of various ages in two barns (food for thought).

John(Muskrat) is dropping off me reconditioned engine tomorrow at 11am.
So once again the kettle will be on most of the day, and Lucy's got a stash of brownies to keep us going.
