Even though the day did involve quite a few more tea breaks, we did manage to refit the gearbox, and attach some of the ancillaries. Once again, a big thank you to everybody involved. ;D ;D Finger crossed, we'll be ready to put the heart back in me golf next Saturday. Let's hope it's not too bloody cold!

Oh dear just watched your video Steve ;D, and my voice on your phone sounds like a very bad Michael Caine impression , plus I'm being very bossy about the whole thing . A very special well done to Andy and Lucy for putting up with me for 5 days over a month, plus feeding and watering me which is a major task in itself ;D. All I can say is what a great Dub club of no name this is, to have a group of people who are prepared to help each other out and have a good laugh while doing it, John is a true star for giving up what little free time he has had of late, too rebuild the engine and make this first major project of the club a reality. Finally a big well done and pat on the back form Uncle Nige, must go to Andy for taking on such a major project on his car, after only ever doing an oil change on it. All I can say M8 is if you can do what you've done in the last month on your Golf, you can do any job that comes along in the future As too my thumb as sods law would have it I injured myself on the very last thing that we put back, which was the down pipe , both Andy and myself had managed to remove and replace the engine and even start up for the first time without any blood loss, so just my luck

It's a lot quieter now we've connected the exhaust! Haven't driven it yet, want to check timing and a few other bits first! (Can we borrow ya timing light John) Think the maiden voyage will be this Saturday!

I would never have taken this on without your help and knowledge, and I'm extremely grateful for everything you've taught me along the way!
