ive just got the bottom half of a gti seat and i want to put the foam part into mine as the bolster on mine is knackered , how hard is this to do and how do i go about doing it??

You'd be better off swapping the base of the old seat with the new one, thats # 1/ as long as the are the same style
# 2/ that the new Base section is the same side as the one your replacing I.E. both new and old are the drivers side etc.
The reason is simple these seats are cold cure blown moulded foam, this means that the frame and the foam are one unit and can't be separated. This is because the side rails in the seat base are surrounded buy the foam padding once the foam has been injected into the the mould at the factory.
If the seat bases are the same design and style, then you could swap them over but you would have to swap the trimming as well. Again this would be possible if the new seat base is the same side as the one your replacing. Or if the left and right side seat units are identical except for the position of the seat adjustment fittings.

the frames of a mk2 fit in the runners etc of a mk1 so do mk3 seats ive got mk3 frames on mine
