HELP need HELP ANYBODY HELP need some ideas on how to take my hub NUTS of engine has been removed GOT A BIG BAR AND POLE !!!!!!!!! Hand brake not man enough to stop rear wheels from spinning (just like my head ) any help or ideas greatly appreciated Cheers Richard

right easy way is to put two wheel nut bolts in on opposite sides then get a thin strong bar (i always use trolley jack handle to wedge between them so when it spins the pole wedges itself on the ground then you can use your breaker bar to undo the hub nutts, if your local can pop round and do it quickly if you like im in kettering

if its that tight gearing wouldnt stop it turns engine over

Normally i agree with GD, but not today, i have the chassis of my cabriolet sitting on a mates drive. I had tried everything with the body on in the past to loosen the hub nut but no luck. this weekend my little mate came over hoping to break summat, but my compressor had broke so i gave him the blow torch (just a little one) and he heated it for a couple of minutes, i whacked on my breaker bar and a 7" scaffold pole and jumped. Bang went the nut and loose it came. Use heat, not a load but for a good long time. if you apply the heat to just the nut it will expand faster than the threaded end it screws onto. s

as for the handbrake not being man enough, lift up the back and tighten tthe brakes as you normally would. then retry!
