are that's why you kept giving me funny looks, I was helping the old man out today, plus buying odds and sods for him, me and job's on the car, hence the flex drive, more about that soon ;D I was p1$$ off a bit half the day was wasted by family politics to I did get much done at all, anyway tomorrow I'm back to doing some of my work so not the same problems added to this my step mother was using my old mans car, I did say about me driving to save time, and take the golf. But no as usual we had to wait around like a couple of spare pricks at a wedding just because he does like how fast I drive, that means anything over 40 mph.

well its more what I've not manage to get done due to th e weather that's the problem. I've done my gear linkage kit at last but have now found out from talking too Martin at volksworld that my self-adjusting clutch cable that I fitted two years back, was fooked when I bought it and has never work correctly. So I've now got to do that job again, before achieve the nirvana of a smooth and seamless gear change without, it jamming or catching the syn-co

Reply part 2/ The flex drive is to help when I port and polish my inlet manifold, just got to sort out getting some fuel "O" rings the metal type, which I require in two sizes, then I can start ;D. The problem is the Muppet that last work on the car before I owned it when he replace the fuel injection lines some years back he did not fit the "O" ring to the Banjo joints, not very clever or safe, when there's 2.5 BAR in pressure in the system. I only found this out by accident, when I had to remove one of the lines due to the old fuel injector rusting to it. So I've been waiting for a window of three good days of weather so I can do the job on the inlet manifold but no luck. Oh then there brake pipes to replace, plus my MOT, as well so I'll probably be sick of the car by the time I've done all that lot. Always to many jobs to do and not enough time to do them, or money

Well I've booked the car in for next Wednesday, which is also the same night as the Northampton SCD meet, but the car's still well within the MOT anyway. The problem is every year I have great problems getting the old girl through, it's never been straight forward yet, and never goes through first time without any problems. So this year I've thought I'll book it in early and avoid all the bloody hassle I had last year.
So I may go to SCD or not depending what frame of mood I'm in after the MOT, and found out how much its going to cost me.

Try gob$hite (what a great name) on the SCD group forums, he's got at least two Mk2 golf's that he's braking for spares. So give him a try. If not ebay, as there was a complete interior for a golf on there last week, but the down side is having to go and collect it. scdvw.proboards81.com/
