Right here is a inverted copy of the test paper as its easier to read Failed today not too bad Right, numbers : 003 004 005 006 ;D 007 I can sort ;D 001 should be ok with but could someone help me out with a better explanation to 002 absolutely any comments and advice welcome

Does it mean that your steering wheel doesn't lock when ignition is off??

I think it proberbly means that a split pin is missing through the joint threaded part of the ball track rod end or it has not got a nylock nut fitted, post a picie if you wish and i will tell you

i'd read what muskrat has said! i think that is right, lift if up, have a gander and if there is a hole that looks like it should have summat in it, put summat in it!!!! we're not having a nice time at the mo with our MOTs and Dubs are we?!!!

That aint it, what you should have on your track rod (the rod that operates the steering part of the front suspension) No. 30 and 31 on the diagram. is either: one of these or one of these On the diagram number 39&40 is a castle nut and split pin as in the last picture, or just go for a nylock nut, as in the first picture.

Jon or rich what size thread is it on the track rod end bushing If its M8 then I've got some Nylocks up in the shed

J am not one hundred percent sure without looking but i think they are 10mm fine. i am up the garage tommorrow i will have a look

Yep I did wonder, as the Golfs M10 Anyway Mr bus I'm sure someone can left you have a Nylock for your vehicle in the right thread size ;D
