hey fella ran the comp test, figures are in the appropriately titled thread! Please can i borrow your spline drive bits and bobs and maybe some of your time depending on how much you have! If your PC is still being silly you can borrow mine here. I'm gonna take the head off and get it looked at, then, i'll try to sort it! S

well, i was hoping to start tonight. i wanted to chuck oil into the cylinders to check for ring failure. i then wanted to start the heady process of head removal! otherwise you free at the weekend? probably saturday? I can get a gazebo over it in case of rain! cheers fella! the advice from VZI is that it's a fail in the gasket (or head) between cylinders 2 and 3. that sounds likely! s

when i said to use oil to seal the rings i did mean a small amount not enough to blow the head off, i have used this way for yhe last fourty years and not damaged any engine parts and always had good results.
