Friday - Met up with Stred, Manda, Karl, Lisa, Julie and John (mr and mrs muskrat) at McDonalds, and after a quick bite to eat, headed off on our journey to Epsom.
Just a few miles from Epsom, we came across a single cab split at the side of the road. They indicated that they needed a tow rope. Stred and Amanda (being the stars that they always are)pulled over, and proceeded to tow them the last few miles into Hook Road Arena.
Unfortunately, there are no photos of them towing, but I did find this on another site...(the splitty and tow rope - Stred's bus is just out of shot!! )
Later on, we were joined by Spenny, Caroline, Stu (mogleymancub), Lisa (mrs mancub), Conna, Pip and little Tiger-Rivers.
Had a chilled out evening around the fire, in readiness for an early start.
Saturday - Up early to get lined up ready for the convoy to Brighton.
After a long wait, we finally set off for Brighton.
Found these pics of the cruise on Vzi - think I recognise some of us a bit further back!!
Stred and Mand having a boogie in their bus!!
We managed to meet up with chopperchris and Jenny on the M23 (after they came straight from Kettering on Sat morning).
Eventually we arrived at Madeira Drive and queued to get onto the front...
I have never seen it so busy!!
Mind you, it doesn't help when there's a coach parked up there...(anything to do with you Steve66?)
Once parked up, we had a wander along toward the pier, and we bumped into Pete and Helen, who had come down on the train for the day. Later on we also bumped into Duffy, Andy and the kids....so all in all there was a pretty huge KUDC presence.
There was a great variety of dubs on the front....here's just a few of the 1000 VWs that were parked up!!
This one had a really nice interior...
And this was really cool...
Whereas, this really wasn't...
And Jenny was rather keen on the chocolate themed vans!!
We had a fantastic day, and were really lucky with the weather!
Part 2 - 'Brighton Racecourse Fancy Dress Night' coming soon!
