How low can ya go.....

Hi there ;D

Im new to the club so firstly hello

Ive got a 69 bug project that I am planning at the mo' and wondered if any club members have any pointers or ideas on the following.....

Basically I want the bug stock-ish but want to slam lower it slighlty

So whats the best way?

At the moment my thoughts are.....

I have an adjustable beam fitted and I am thinking this may need narrowing (by how much?) and also dropped spindles.

At the rear wind it down a couple of splines?

The wheels will probably be standard steel wheels with some skinny tires at the front.

Anyone got any advice/ideas or done something similar before? Is it straightforward?

ball joint front end i take it?
i intend to build up another narroweed adjustable beam, let me know if your interested.
dropped spindles are great but will cause clearance issues when you lower it too much with adjusters.
narrowed is good, 2" is great it improves clearance from the wing and doesn't have any negatives.
At the back 2 splines is cool though might be a touch to much, depends on how you use your bug and how often you have passengers, mine is one at the mo and is pretty cool!



any advice, me and toughjeans (toughsplit) have done it ourselves so kinda know the score!

Its really handy to know someone in the club has been here before.

Adjustable beam - you can make one up? Would be interested for sure.

I wont be removing the suspension etc for a couple of weeks as I am stripping the engine at the moment but maybe we could have a chat at the next meet if youre going?
