..So i realise my brake lights dont work due to a faulty brake light switch. So got that fixed today and all went well. Now situation i have is when the normal rear night lights are on, They all seem to be a different brightness. Now the bug was due to stay off the road till i could do a resto on it, but having lost my job i need a car, and having 7 months mot left on it i thought it was a waste to let it sit. Now i know that the rear right lights are bridged over from the left side lights. All indicators work fine. But when full lights are put on, the right side is stronger than the left, and when brake light applied the right side is stronger than the left. I have ordered a new light switch located on the dashboard as its became faulty. Could that have an effect on rear lights? So question is.. is there a simple fix for this? Really only need it to last for rest of MOT.

If its none of the above, then it maybe a wiring fault, such as bad earthing (even worse on 6 volt systems) or voltage loss due to poor conductivity (+) in the wires themselves or damaged insulation causing a short or touching an other live wire in the loom and thus causing a voltage drop.

yeah check current with an ammeter, also volts, if there is significant differnce look at the wire and especially connections. Wires shouldn't be patced from side to side but if the wire is good and think it shouldn't matter too much! earth isa good place toi look, is it rusty or dodgyat all? s
