Mine was one of these: Was white like the one in the pic with a sky blue vinyl interior. Fuel pump ruptured on the M5 and it ended up burnt out. RIP KOJ641P So what did everyone else have as a first motor?

Some good ones already, keep em coming. Carpetmark and Looby, I understand how you feel about losing yer first motor to the scrapman and wanting another just like it. Every time I see a cheap solid Toledo or Dolomite 1300 on fleabay I get tempted

Went everywhere on this, Scotland, Wales, loads of English resorts, and all at 28mph, but it was the best of times riding with your mates.

My first ford Car ;D was the property of Uncle Sam, until the guy I bought it off had acquired it. It had 10,000 miles on the clock and matching engine and body numbers. chassis number was GPW 234519 Hood number USA 20434459 built at the Ford motor company's River Rouge plant, in Dearborn, Michigan on the afternoon of the 22 of October 1944 ;D one of about 1500 Ford GPW's (ford built model of Willy's MB jeep) to come off the production line that month. Top speed about 70 mph officially 60 ;D, but in a open vehicle its feels like a 100 mph And yes they did have Large machine guns mounted on jeeps, mine had been used by a Military police unit, and this was common practice at the end of WW2, and my jeep was no exception the was evidence to show that the mounted had been fitted, so I put one back in as part of the restoration. Oh and a .50 Caliber M2 HB Browning machine gun for good measure ;D
