After the frantic last minute van repairs the night before, we thankfully managed to meet up with Stred and Mand in Wellingborough on Friday evening, ready for the trip down to Sanddown... *Please note 'Polly the Parrot' on Stred's roof rack*
Just before Toddington Services on the M1, our generator light came on, so we pulled into the service station to find that our fan belt had come loose...
Stred had a few dressing issues...
and Polly was looking a little worse for wear...
After that impromptu stop, the rest of the journey went well.
Arrived at the racecourse, and parked up, ready for an evening of drinks, pringles and Yahtzee in our van...
It was pretty chilly overnight, but we survived...although Andy wasn't too keen on giving up the duvet the next morning...
Stred had to borrow one of Andy's woolly hats to keep his head warm...
Then it was off to the show...
We then went to watch lots of people trying to get in and on a bug...
The bug...
The bug with a few people inside...
The bug with lots of people inside...
The bug with more and more people climbing onto it...
Seeing as we were at a racecourse, I thought I would put on a posh hat...unfortunatley I hadn't got one, so used the spinner from the top of the flag pole as a good substitute!!
In the evening, we went to the party in the bar. There was a pretty decent band on, and then a disco afterward, and it had lovely central heating!!!
There was even a streaker to keep us amused!! This photo was taken after security had escorted him out of the main bar!!
When we were thrown out of the bar at the end of the night, we carried on drinking with our Welsh neighbours till the early hours.
After another chilly night, we woke up to glorious sunshine, which definitely warranted the use of sunglasses....
We then met up with Amy, her hubby and the kids...
You can see how excited the kids were...
Had a great view of the campsite from the grandstand...
After a lovely (if not a little cold!!) weekend away, it was time to head home. We stopped for a meal en route, then headed back up the motorway. Just before Toddington, our generator light came on again, so another impromptu stop was made...
And it was then that we found out the awful news....
Polly was gone!!!!
Despite the weather being rather cold - we still had a fab time!!
