 Ok last friday my ignition module or a coil pack as some people know it went on me bora. so it was running on four in stead of five cylinders so i spent 144 quid on a new one and with new leads and plugs at the cost of 70 quid and a new mass air flow meter at the cost of 80 quid.and the end result it's alot better but it's not 100% and at low revs it still feels like its running on four and it sounds like its sucking in air from some were and i did the WD40 trick by spraying it over the engine and pip's when it's running and if it revs up then you know that your in the right place for a air leak.so now I'm at that point were my brain is fried and i don't know were to turn.so can any one me please.

hi
have you check you are getting a spark at each plug, have you checked the plugs, have you tried pulling off the plug on each injector (if you can get to it)
i would check plugs
check injectors
if its only doing it at idle it may be an air leak you can hear them some times, so what happen with the WD40?

O and the WD40 trick did not find anything.i sprayed it over every hose and found nothing coz as you may know WD40 is a higher octane then fuel so if the engine does suck it in it will rev up.but to my luck sod all and now it's doing my head in  . |

do you know what cylinder it is ? sorry mate it's took so long to get to ya. but i sorted it out with a bit of help from R-TEC hinkley. but this is the bit that i can't get my head round.on the way over to let the guy's lose on me bora it had a mad fit and sorted it self out  . Any way i still went over to hinkley and told them what happened but they still put her on the 200MPH rolling road and put the diagnostics.and found sod all wrong  .but they still took my throttle body off and gave it a clean.And the grand cost for there time was 10 quid  .so now she's running a treat and she's going over to get remapped and all so get a new air filter fitted and put on the rolling road and set up. I can really say that these guy's went right out of the way for me and i can't recommend them anuff. R-TEC ---01455619854 Give them a buzz if you need anything.. Simon. |
