clutch question?

thought id ask everyone as im getting different views from others. my pedal is biting close to the floor after adjustment some time ago, after thinking my clutch friction pad was on it's way out i am now suspecting a stretched cable as the pedal has gone down rather than up.

what do all you clever people think??

cable is easy to replace-get a new one.
Clutch plate will be easy to see when you pull the engine.
dunno if you can get heavy duty clutch cables? you're running a kennedy stage 1 pressure plate, dunno if that requires a bit more push to release it?
s
