next year there is going to be a charity drive from Lands End to John O'Groats open to only new beetles.
its going to be spread over 5 days with an auction, and free goodies from VW dealers on routes (no not a new car).
The Route
Monday April 26th
Leave Lands End apx 10am after having a group shot at the famous sign.
From there we drive to Barnstaple to a VW dealer to grab some goodies and a wee stop!
( that's apx 2hr 50min trip apx 120 miles ).
Then from Barnstaple we drive to Tewkesbury where we stay the night either at the travelodge or campsite. 140 miles 2hrs 30mins.
Tuesday April 27th
We leave apx 9am and head off to Morrisons Super market for B'fast and any odd things needed for the trip! then its off to Another VW Dealer and to perv over new VW's. Then its off to Sunny ( maybe) Blackpool (apx 160miles 2hrs 45mins)
Once arrive in Blackpool its booking into to the travelodge or campsite and the evening is all yours! ( I'll be mostly eating chips/ice cream and I'll be challenging anyone to driving games in the arcades along the front! )
Wednesday 28th April
Early start and a meet up at a local supermarket in Blackpool for b'fast and fuel/bits needed then its off to Kendal.
53.3 miles and apx 1 hr. Then its Follow the Blue Bug game and It will take you through very nice areas of the Lake District and at the end will be stopping for ice creams/coffee which the Blue Bug will take care of the bill!
The route is apx 70 miles and apx 2 hrs of driving.
This route finishes at Carlise then its a dash to Glasgow where will be staying the night
(Carlise to Glasgow apx 3 hrs and 120 miles)
Thursday 29th April
First up is the daily supermarket B'fast run then its off to another VW dealership for goodies and more perving at nice cars then its lunchtime at Edinburgh Castle ( I'm trying hard to get permission to see if we can get a photo shot of all cars lined up outside the castle, but i'll keep you posted on that one! )
Glasgow to Edinburgh 50 miles 1 hr driving.
We then take a nice drive to Inverness 160 miles and 3hrs 45 mins, arriving at the camp site / travelodge.
Friday 30th April
OOOOooooooo its the big day!!!
Get up mega early and head off to see the monster ( no not your mother-in-laws chaps Nessy! yes off to Loch ness for a few photos! then its the coastal route all the way up the the John'O Groats where its the end of a good trip ( hopefully) Apx 130 miles 2hrs 45 mins.
