Thought it was about time I put up my Flame and Thunder Pics...
So, on the weekend of October 31st...a few mad KUDC'ers decided to go and camp 5 to 10 miles up the road at Santa Pod!
After some dodgy weather reports, most of us decided to stay home on the Friday night, and see what the weather was doing on the Saturday morning...but the hardcore Stred and Mand headed up on Friday night regardless.
Saturday morning dawned, and the weather forecast was looking more promising, so Lulu, Al, Lisa, Chris, Andy and myself headed up to the Pod to join Stred and Mand.
Lulu and Al were only coming up for the day, so weren't allowed to park with us in camping...so whilst we waited for them to join us, the sun began to shine....a perfect photo opportunity...honestly - there was sunshine!!
After Lulu and Al found us again, we all headed up to the bank to see what was happening...
Not quite what I was expecting to see!!!
I wonder what Mand is telling Stred???
Us girls pretending we're teenage girls of today pulling our 'Myspace/Facebook' faces!! (why do teenage girls think this looks good???)...
Finally we got some proper racing...I only took one photo though, as I just wanted to enjoy a bit of drag racing!!
After some racing, and a wander around the trade and pit area, we headed back to camp where we watched the firework display...
Then, being Halloween, we donned our costumes...
Stred's pumpkin...
After dinner, a chat round the fire (aka Stred and Mand's patio heater), a game of Uno, and Stred's late night barbecued crumpets...it was bedtime. Surprisingly, it really wasn't that cold. However, the rain decided to hoof it down big style!!
Lisa and Chris texted fairly early to say that they had headed home once they awoke as they had to go and pick up Poppy.
We had decided to go very minimal for this camping trip...so breakfast consisted of coffee cups and flapjack!!
When we finally dared to open the sliding door, this was the view...
Poor Stred packed up camp in the pouring rain, whilst we looked on giving 'dry' moral support!! ;D
After deciding to drive round to the 'Pit Stop Cafe' for breakfast, it was then that we discovered that Stred and Mand's van was not going to start!! So after Stred and Andy tried unsuccessfully to solve the problem (whilst getting very wet) and then a phonecall to recovery, they jumped in with us and we went for breakfast as planned, until the recovery driver rang to say he was here.
Luckily, the recovery driver managed to identify the problem, and then sneak into the Monster Truck arena, and find the part in one of the partly crushed cars engines!!
