the golf is idle-ing mega high, ive tryed to have a go at sorting it out my self but havent had any luck, anyone help?

Its sounds like the idle mixture far to rich, so the idle metering/ mixture screw needs to be back off. If not then its some other secondary component failure, as some of these golf carbs are quite (overly) complicated and have wax thermostats and other such $H!t. Then again you buy German, and you get totally over engineered for the job in hand. As otherwise, why else do you think they would have lost WWII.

all sorted now , ken tinkered with it for emitons , was runnight a little bit rough still tho , spend 20 mins on it getting it just right , purs now
