Hello all. I met a few of you back in November when i was working on the bar during a wedding at the Hotel Elizabeth in Corby. A few of the people made me aware of the forum and club when i spotted the fellas cuff links, lol
Anyway here is my Mk1 Caddy Project. I bought it a few months ago for around £600 iirc. It's a 1.6d which is what i was after so it would save me some wonga on fuel.
This is from when I pulled in to get fuel on the night I got it.
So I ran it like this for a while but then I did something I had dreamt of ever since I picked up VW Performance back in the year 2000.
I bought some front adjustable coilovers and some rear drop plates from justcaddys.
I then purchased some ebay top mounts and wacked them on.
On!
The Coilovers were easy but the plates were abit more tricky with alot of rusty axle and hub bolts plus having to re-send the rear (rusty, lol) brake lines. I just had to bend very carefully!
I had a slight rubbing issue on the back and had to change the 165/80/13's to 155/80/13's and the rubbing was fixed. Well, i say fixed but i avoid speed bumps and going quickly round tight corners like the entrance and the roundabout at the Odean in Kettering. ;D
Just another pic, lol. On the way back from Gti 'Spring' International i ran out of fuel on the A14 and when i got back it had this on the windscreen, lol
Whooops!
So not much else done really. It is off the road now because I am concentrating on my track car because I am off to the Nurburgring on August bank holiday. But when i am back and start geting some more cash behind me i can then start rubbing down the Caddy for paint.
Anyway, i look forward to meeting you soon. When are he meets?
