Hi I am new to the aircooled world having rebuilt and owning a few W/C VW's, i currently have a fully restored VW MK1 Golf GLI cabrio 1.6GLI which is a 1980 and i have owned this since 1986.
During lockdown i imported and fully rebuilt a T2 Bay from Australia, this has been finished for for around 6 months but i have had problems getting it running correctly, it has a totally rebuilt GE code 2.0L fuel injected engine and it will start but it seems the electronics on the engine (fuel injection, ECU etc) is giving the problem.
the issue seems to be also trying to find someone who knows these engines and how to set up, test etc as they are so old and most V dubs seem to have either std 1.6 engines or larger engines with carbs.
i know i can just take all of the FI stuff off and run carbs but wanted to if possible keep it with the standard F/I.
if there is anyone who knows these engines and thinks they can help i would appreciate it.
