Please help!!!! My beetle just failed its MOT I need to get it fixed within 10 days and I don't know any good garages. Are there any specialists in the kettering area? He is my pride and joy and I don't want to take him to a standard back street or whatever garage.

I'm sure the animalbuses will know of someone in Kettering. As for us, we've used DGs in Wellingborough (although they are often booked up well in advance), we've just got our bus back from Paul (cough) (username - Pablo 912 on here)...although again, I know he is very busy at the mo, with our bus taking longer than anticipated, we have also used a garage in Higham called VRW Garages on Midland Rd, Higham Ferrers. VRW are usually quite good at getting you in quick. They are not VW specialists as such, but one of the mechanics there used to have air-cooled dubs a while ago, and seems to know a bit about them. Hope this helps By the way, are you the original Sydnacious? If so, we have missed you. Hope you are both OK, and can make it to a meet soon.

Just as an after thought theres is a VW specialist garage in Kettering called MJP, but please don't go to them under any circumstances. They maybe a specialist but it not in high quality workmanship.

Thanks for all the replies! Yep no problem, you can if the car is booked in for MOT work drive legally with your insurance being valid even if your Tax has run out, I had this a couple of years back with the golf, due too no fault of my own I will added. I fitted a new brake regular valve as the old one was leaking only to find on the MOT the new one failed due too being also faulty. sydnacious2 just make sure you declare the vehicle SORN with the DVLA so you don't get hit with the £80.00 fine for not having current road tax. If you not done this already your O.K. as the 14 days grace for notification still applies.
