This is a common problem if you always lock the car by using the alarm on your key phob.
You could try using some thicker oil such as 3-1 to unfreeze the mechanism.

No probs ;D, as you know the Golf doctor is always on call. Personal appearances at NO extra cost , and I didn't even have a Wii while I was there, poking and oiling your locks

???you could try Plus gas ,it comes in a tin like WD40 ,used in engineering ,use to use it when i did coachbiulding, on refits to old lorries This stuff is brill hope this helps Yep Plus gas is good stuff for freeing up seized bolts etc, I've used that in the past on quite a few jobs, but if its a really rusty item it takes ages So these days I find Sulfuric acid or good old fashioned Oxy/acetylene even better. just don't use the two at the same time

Yep we used the acid to free up the rear engine mounting bolts as they were as rusty as a***holes to coin a phase ;D, as to how dry or wet one of the formentioned is I think its best for Mr or Mrs Bus to answer that one Looby. ;D
