Hi m8, and welcome to the group, I'd know your motor anywhere with those wheels and the German style plates.
I've often seen you zipping around Ise lodge when I'm out with the mutley's. ;D

I wouldn't worry about it M8, St John's is the unofficial test track for Santa pod, after about 11pm on Friday's and Saturday nights. The last guy that was trying to impress his girlfriend, and lost it totally, ended up taking out, a lamp post,a stone wall and trashing three cars before coming to a stop. But likely for him, both of them were fine and staggered away from the crash without a scratch. I must admit I was half expecting to find claret every where when I arrived on the scene but he was a lucky lad. I don't think however his insurance company would have been so happy with the bill.

That one was years ago, and up the top end of the road near St Mathews. There weren't any skids marks due to the fact the guy did use his brakes , what happened was he came down St Mathews in his R.S. Cosworth Escort, and changed into the wrong gear at 40+ mph, I always reckoned he got first instead of third, but anyway the turbo immediately went through the red-line, and over boosted as soon as he engaged the clutch as the rev's went to Maximium 7-8000 (so high it stopped revving and the rev's peeked and then flattened out), the car shoot across the road and he then hit the lamp post across from the junction and things really went from bad to worse for him from there on in. I know all this because I'd just comeback from my ex-girlfriends house in rugby, and I'd not been home very long when at about 3.00.a.m I heard the car and the chaos which followed unfold, hence first on the scene More recently we had a guy in a Clio lose it on the top corner (which is quite a deceptive bend) and take the front garden wall out at the same time, the people who live there have now change the layout and not bothered re-building the wall, so next time there will wake up to find a Clio in the lounge instead of the sofa ;D. Oh and there's another numpty who likes driving his car all over peoples gardens, lawns and flower beds etc. This was also up the top end, were the peoples houses and drives are flat.

yep a m8 of mine Dave Smith who an engineer and does bit's of work for me, knows the guy that owns the house your on about on Walkton Lane, (he get Dave to make parts for his large scale model railway layout ). The wall and gates are now re-enforced with steel girders due to this very problem. Apparently at one point they had about one car a week spin-out on that corner, hence the new (useless) Slow down sign that they've installed.

Not sure about the model railway, only going on what I've been told. But my guess is it's in one of the buildings garages etc. As to the sign, I find it really has a mind of it's own. I can go past it someday's and not set it off. Then another day I'm about 200yds away and the bloody thing starts flashing away at me. But it uses the same laser type technology as the speed camera's and we all know how reliable they are.
