Good god just a few scabby bits!!! i am now wondering just what i have taken on. In my mind clive has had a full restoration in reality i have removed all the sticky back plastic from his interior and topped his oil up again. However i do now have a vision, step one: save the pennies , turn of the heating and keep the kids alive with beans on toast

Yesterday joe and i did a few jobs on the new bug
Changed the drivers side door rubber Changed the rear screen rubber Fitted a 12v to 6v resistor to the wipers to stop them going so fast they look like they will snap.

;D bought a nice new set of tires for the bug, 225.40.18 Yoko's. also had them fitted to the alloys, they are all shinney and ready to go back on the bug. just deciding when,

I start off cleaning up the backs with gunk to remove all brake dust. first step on the fronts is use a cheap cleaner like T-cut metal restorer just to get the worst of the crap off. Then smooth out any deep scratches and gouges with a sisal wheel and cutting compound fitted in a drill. Then move on to a cotton wheel with a lighter cutting compund. And to finish off i use autoglym metal polish to remove any build up of cutting compound. Each rim only takes about 45 mins from start to finish
