Due to a certain Mr Bus moaning about my golf ;D I started the old girl up today and moved her so I could clean the drive and get the car further over. Again the car has not been started for about four months, having once plumb in the battery and I turned the key and she fired first time on the thrid rotation of the starter ;D, the delay was due to no fuel pressure in the system, because of standing so long so next I'll start on the paint and bodywork

i've done nothing today.....
but i've been busy....
So i bought Hayley a lil mk3 polo from south wales, on the way back just south of eveshame she dropped her load (Of water) all over the M5-bugger!
So tow her all the way home in the golf (didnt miss a beat) call Nige and by sunday evening the head was off. We found a problem... the water pump that doubles as the Cambelt tensioner which should have been held on with 3 bolts was held on with.......1! DOH!! So on monday took the head to Martin at Volksworld over in northampton (super dude) and he checked for warpage- there was none! So got the new gasket kit. With the help of nige again stick it back together on wednesday evening and got it running properly on thursday!.
WELL
Not over yet.
On the saturday we collected it, Hayley bought some lowering springs (70mm) so the following saturday on they went!!!
Then i got some BBS alloys off a mx5 for it! debadged grill New indicators.... And presto! HAyley has a cute lil polow!
BUT THATS NOT ALL!!!!
COs now my golf was higher than her polow....
on to ebay!
80mm front, 60mm rear...
Looking better now, see you guys tomorrow!
Steve

Today, 'Burp' had 2 new rear tyres fitted. That solves the problem of having to pump them up every 2 days

well all my "hard" work has resulted in this... Not hugely happy as i think the front is twisted slightly(possibly as the result of a shunt) anyway, this is how she'll stay til i can be bothered to do a brake upgrade- going for porka ones i think! then engine, really the only choice is 1.8 20VT and i guess maybe some 16" split rim BBS rs's got 14"two piecers on Hayleys polow and i love them! Just that deep polished lip.... mmmmmmmmmmmmm anyway. they're the plans, but not yet! steve Attachments:
