Nothing on mine except break the alarms remote on the key phob , while at marks. Mark heated the old battery with a heat gun, and after about 3 or 4 attempts we managed to disarm the alarm using the key phob, so I'll have to get another new battery for the remote so that it works properly. But I did help him remove all the windows from the fastback, so that he can carry on the strip out. We managed to pop the front, rear and side windows in under 20 minutes, and without breaking the class or damaging the paint work. Not bad considering we did not have any of the special tools too hand at the time, you know what its like its was one of the spur of the moment things. ;D

Brought a pair of front seat covers at Dubfreeze yesterday and ordered the rest of the interior today from Spirit of the fifties and also sourced a turn key 1641cc big bore from CoolAir and a new adjustable front beam, should be with me in about three weeks so will have to get cracking soon.

I replaced the Disy cap and rotor arm ,as I've noticed lately the old girl has been pinking at higher revs, or if laboring. When I compared the new rotor arm with the old one I could see why, it had burned away, by about 1.5mm I then checked the cam belt tension, this I've been meaning to do since having a chat with John about this while working on Andy's 8v with them. The belt itself looks fine but is far too tight, no wonder my camshafts are on the way out, and are rattling like a Ba$tard when the engines started from cold , so add a new set of camshafts to my list of jobs too do Finally I manage to break the vacuum connection off the cut off valve, so this afternoon I've repaired the unit and re-enforced the joint with some epoxy putty to strengthen the repair. The cut off valve is now in the airing cupboard to help set the two part Milliputt epoxy putty. OK I read up a bit more and it looks like the cam belt tension is O.K. as for 16v models it is a little tighter then the 8v, this is too do with all the extra stuff the belt is turning. Now all I've got to do is check that the tensioner has not seized up thus causing the rattling.
