Sorry! yeah well, after narrowing the beam myself i was please to report that running on the lowest setting was wicked, it looked spot on and rode quite well, so, it even gave me enough confidence to drive fast trouble is, the bottom of the shock towers was barely 2 inches above the ground and i was driving fast along a country road and crested one of those pesky little "JumpS" and then a little "DITCH" shaped issue in the road and i heard a load bang and felt pieces of road shower the underside of my car, when i braked it pulled hard to the left and when i looked i noticed nothing, except for a large scrapey road coloured markon the botton of the lefthand shock tower. later i looked agasin and realised that the knock must have busted both welds on the beam as the whole left side was hanging on by the torsion leaves inside! trouble was, i'd already driven to coventry and half way back like it! ARGHHHH and i had passengers in the car, i didn't quite tell them the full extent of the trouble! its fixed now, like i should have done it "funkenblitz" style with inner sleeves and i've even added extra outer sleeves on the bottow for extra strength! However on friday my paretns were kind enough to take me to wiltshire 100 miles away to collect my new 1995 SKoda favorit! its great! just needs a name...... s i can think of somes names for you!! be carefull man!! oh how about the 'scud'

Hi all, been holiday this week working on the bus, if anyone wants to fit a new headlining themselves DON'T unless you know what your doing as it seems i don't and do i want to fit another, well the answer is a big NO as is it best left to someone who can. I have nearly ripped it out twice this week but it will have to do for now. On a positive note the new garage has been a brilliant not having to pack all the kit away, i have fitted two new roof vents and closing mechanisms which more light in, finished of all the wiring to the new gauges, refitted the front screen with a deluxe window seal and chrome moulding and refitted my TV/DVD player. Back to work this week, Hope you all a good weekend at the Big bang, see you Tuesday.

Well, steve has just dropped off my wheels with new tyres! they look great, can't wait to get them on! also i've popped the engine out! i can see what went wrong on the clutch too! the release bearing was slightly to the left so wasn't hitting the pressure plate evenly, as a result i got a judder, its also twisted the contanct disc on the pressure plate too, half the springs must have gone! time for the new one, it wont be able to do that again with my supported release bearing! also, i will replace the fan housing and attempt to fit the new carbs! ooooooooooooooooooooooweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! peace s

After having a very leaky and crunchy gearbox on the Golf, I was quite pleased to find, when I drained it, that I'd only lost half a litre of oil, and not all of it as I suspected! Still haven't really pinpointed the exact place of the leak, but I've changed the oil, and hoping It'll be less crunchy now! Also did an engine oil and filter change while the car was jacked up, just to keep the golfdoctor happy!
