by the way, got the passenger window sorted on the mk4 goofy by the dude in speedys , paid for the new part ourselves and he charged us nearly a ton cheaper than the autohaus had quoted us.......

And as some of you know the battery light on the golf decided to come on, on the way home from birmingham late on saturday night

So green flag took us home from corley services (and renewal is next week) thank you very much last year paid for


since then i've changed the drivebelt, and charged the battery for a longtime.......but i think the battery has had it's day

so new battery for the golf

yeah karl you know how to check?
stck a voltmeter on it and at idle it should read 14V. if it doesn't then you have a charging issue!
doh!!!
check all the leads etc...

Took the alternator in today for a refurb, More bloomin monies............

But it'll be fixed eh!!! ;D

As a personal recommendation, I would have said Burwell and ward are your best bet for that type of thing, Robin does a first class job on all his Electrical work and if its anything along the lines of an alternator or starter motor, then I always go to them.

the shiney wheels are coming off and my winter shoes are going on, yes its a bit early. however...........

while they are off i will be doing a little custom work to them. just watch and wait.

fitting a VW speaker grill, very cool

Hi peeps, fitted me bits i bought at vanfest today, a new oil filler tower/breather system to replace the leaky one that came with engine and a temp dip stick sender and that works as well. Split charge relay tomorrow after a blast on me bike and a stop for breakfast.

... well with my free time until I get another job, I decided to get my T25 over to my new house. Took me 2 hours again to get it out of the garage, but nevermind, it is safely over my new place, and now I can sort the engine!

Mr ben came round today and help me stick the extra sump onto the old girl today, very pleased with the results


The average temperature of the bus is now 210 Farenhiet, so 98 celcius.....and i beleive the average temp for a bus is 115C so we are well under ;D

1/2 day on the Beetle today

Got the engine in

Had to strip the carbs, exhaust and front tin off to do it

Found it very difficult to mate the case to the gearbox

Came home, asked a few people in the know, and guess what, have to take it back out again as I fitted the wrong clutch cover

I drove my Beetle today

Only 6 feet back into the garage

But is does run, and sounds sweet! apart from the fact I remembered I had forgotten to tighten up the fan nut, so now I have to hope I can get a socket / spanner onto it without having to remove the engine!!!

MOT on Thursday!
